Synaptic Connection
Brain science research has progressed rapidly, while artificial intelligence technology has also been improving by leaps and bounds. I wonder if these technologies and theories can be combined to reveal more detail about the reality of our brains?
For example, the dreams we have while sleeping are not real, nor are they actually happening. It is undoubtedly personal memories that make up a dream. All of the vivid scenes you see in your dreams are illusions created by your memories, but considering the fact that all of these memories are stored in your brain, makes us think more and more about the incomprehensibility of creatures. Regardless of whether it can be exchanged as an organ, there is no substance that preserves the history of an individual so much. Although the approximately 37 trillion cells in the human body are replaced by new ones in about four years. It’s called metabolism. But an exception is brain cells, which basically don’t metabolize. In a region called the dentate gyrus in the hippocampus, unlike other parts of the brain, it seems that every day new neurons are being created, which is responsible for improving learning efficiency, but we don’t know the details. The fact that distant memories remain in the individual over a long period of time may be related to the lack of metabolism of brain cells. If you’re changing your personality every time you have a new metabolism, you’re not going to be able to relate to the people around you.
We don’t know exactly how memories are stored in brain cells, but at least they’re not stored in visible form. If, for example, we can use high-performance MRI to scan the brain in real time and project our dreams while we sleep onto an external monitor, then we’ll have figured out quite a few of the brain’s functions. However, it’s unlikely that the ability to reproduce your dreams on an external monitor will be possible in the future. Even if we can pinpoint the brain cells that are activated by MRI in real time, the details of the dreams that you’re having are based on past memories, so you can’t reproduce the images except for those with whom you fully share the memories, and ultimately, no one can share the images except you. That is, memories, whatever they are, can only be owned by one individual, and no one, no matter how close, can share them in exactly the same way.
Probably that the essence of memory is the individual brain cells themselves, the very network of synaptic connections. Again, it is a unique structure and system that cannot be replaced by anything else.
There is nothing extraordinary about the birth of a human being and his life. Each is an individual ordeal repeated over the past 200,000 years, but each life is a precious phenomenon that cannot be replaced by any other. Every single human being cannot be replaced by anyone else. We may be able to cure the disease, but we can’t change the personality. You can’t replace it with another memory, nor can you reconstruct exactly the same memories and experiences. It’s really sad that you have memories of the past that you want to erase, but in most of cases these memories are just the right size and height to step on. Don’t be afraid to pile some wonderful memories on top of it. If you suffer from congenital disability, don’t overly intimidated by it, and experience the dynamism of living in your own standpoint. The very reason we live is that we have come into existence, received it. This mighty planet guarantees every life, no matter how small. Even if you feel that you can’t live well, there is always something you can do better. Of course, you don’t know that unless you live it.
Even if you’re worried about the future, do not give up and stay on the path. You’re not the only one who’s worried, and neither am I. It is not actually possible that the circumstances remain exactly the same.
